ESG at TKVB Aviation Fuel Ltd
Sustainability, Responsibility, Transparency
At TKVB Aviation Fuel Ltd, we recognise that our role within the global aviation fuel supply chain extends far beyond the boundaries of commercial transactions. As a licensed and operationally active UK-based aviation fuel company, we understand that our business activities carry inherent responsibilities across environmental, social, and governance dimensions. These responsibilities are not merely conceptual they are embedded into the way we operate, govern, engage with counterparties, and report our progress.
We believe that delivering aviation fuel in a compliant, safe, and commercially competitive manner must be matched by a parallel commitment to doing so sustainably, transparently, and in alignment with the long-term interests of the sector and wider society. As the aviation industry undergoes a structural transformation to meet new environmental and operational standards, TKVB is aligning itself with best-in-class practices in emissions reduction, ethical governance, and stakeholder transparency. This commitment reflects both our business values and our obligation to regulators, clients, and the public.
Environmental Responsibility
Minimising Impact, Enabling Efficiency
TKVB Aviation Fuel Ltd operates exclusively through infrastructure that is designed to reduce environmental impact while maintaining operational efficiency. Our model centres on procuring aviation fuel from accredited UK-based refiners and coordinating delivery through airport-integrated fuel farms and hydrant networks. This approach minimises the need for road transport, reduces on-ground carbon emissions, and enhances overall environmental efficiency in line with industry best practice.
We ensure that every litre of fuel supplied under TKVB’s supervision meets internationally recognised specifications, including DEF STAN 91-091 and ASTM D1655, which govern fuel composition, handling, and quality assurance. All fuel is delivered through regulated airport systems where emissions, leakage risk, and contamination potential are actively controlled through engineering and operational safeguards. This process is further reinforced through contractual compliance, including obligations on our upstream and ground handling partners to provide full traceability, quality documentation, and emissions control evidence where relevant.
TKVB is also engaged in evaluating the introduction of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) into its future operational model. This initiative aligns with the United Kingdom’s Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) and forms part of our long-term objective to contribute meaningfully to the aviation sector’s net-zero transition goals. While TKVB does not own or operate refining or production facilities, we recognise the strategic importance of SAF in reducing lifecycle emissions, and we are taking measured steps to ensure our commercial and technical frameworks can support SAF delivery when market and infrastructure readiness permit.
Although our direct emissions footprint is limited due to our non-handling business model, TKVB actively requires its logistics and airport-based partners to hold valid environmental accreditations such as ISO 14001 or equivalent. These accreditations reflect a recognised standard of environmental management, and we routinely assess the environmental practices of all contractors who participate in the TKVB supply chain. We believe that responsible supply is not only about product conformity but also about the wider lifecycle impacts of aviation fuel delivery.
Our environmental strategy is therefore dual-pronged. Firstly, it involves reducing operational footprint by using existing low-emission airport delivery systems. Secondly, it entails supporting the industry’s long-term decarbonisation efforts through SAF integration, emissions transparency, and environmental policy alignment. These objectives are not simply aspirational; they are supported by operational decisions, partner selection criteria, and measurable governance frameworks.
Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE)
Zero Harm, Zero Compromise
Health, Safety, Security and Environment standards are not treated as a regulatory obligation at TKVB Aviation Fuel Ltd they are treated as foundational to our operational credibility. Every part of our activity, whether commercial, logistical or contractual, is developed around the principle that safety and environmental integrity must never be compromised. We engage exclusively with airport-authorised operators who possess the appropriate regulatory licences, insurances, and clearances, and who work in alignment with the UK’s national aviation frameworks. All fuelling operations carried out on our behalf must adhere to Joint Inspection Group (JIG) standards, IATA Fuel Quality Pool (IFQP) procedures, and airport-specific health and safety rules.
TKVB does not permit any deviation from prescribed safety requirements. All partners are contractually obligated to notify us of any incident, near-miss, or operational deviation within a maximum of twenty-four hours. This includes fuel quality irregularities, delivery malfunctions, or any adverse event involving our supply chain. We maintain strict documentation protocols, which include delivery tickets, filtration logs, and contamination control records. We reserve the right to request these documents at any time, either for internal audit or client verification purposes. Our contracts reflect this expectation, and we retain full rights to suspend supply activity if any safety breach is identified.
We also conduct periodic internal reviews of compliance posture across all HSSE domains, both within our company and among our delivery chain counterparts. These reviews are not only focused on documentation but also on operational culture, escalation readiness, and actual performance in the field. TKVB takes a proactive approach to compliance. Rather than waiting for issues to arise, we require that our partners confirm annually that they continue to meet the applicable standards set by the UK Civil Aviation Authority, local airport management companies, and their own HSSE systems.
TKVB believes that a zero-harm culture must be actively managed, not assumed. This is why we embed safety expectations in all commercial engagements, training protocols, and site requirements. Every contract we enter into contains HSSE obligations tailored to the airport site in question. This includes agreed-upon quality testing methods, procedures for handling product recalls or quality disputes, and emergency coordination with the relevant authorities. We are proud to operate with no HSSE breaches since inception and we are committed to preserving that record through forward-looking risk management.
Social Responsibility
Ethical Conduct, Local Presence
TKVB Aviation Fuel Ltd recognises that the sustainability of our operations depends not only on technical compliance, but also on the way we behave within our communities and among our stakeholders. As a company fully registered and operating in the United Kingdom, we take seriously our obligations to uphold the values of integrity, equality, transparency, and responsible business practice. We operate from our registered UK offices, and all functions from administration to compliance and finance are conducted under the jurisdiction and legal framework of England and Wales.
Our management and directorial team are UK-based and held to the same standards of fitness and propriety that apply under UK company law. We ensure that every person acting on behalf of TKVB does so with a full understanding of their legal duties and ethical obligations. This includes compliance with the UK Bribery Act, the Equality Act, and the Companies Act. Directors are expected to act honestly, avoid conflicts of interest, and discharge their responsibilities in the best interest of the company and its stakeholders.
TKVB also maintains a strong commitment to social inclusion and workforce diversity. We are an equal opportunity employer and comply fully with UK employment law. This includes observing statutory protections for employees, non-discriminatory hiring practices, fair compensation policies, and adherence to workplace safety and wellbeing guidelines. No element of our recruitment or HR function is outsourced overseas. All staff are employed and managed under local UK contracts and standards.
Our presence at UK airports is not transactional it is operational and long-term. We engage with airport authorities, fuel farm operators, logistics handlers, and compliance teams to ensure our activities reflect a high standard of conduct. This includes training programmes, safety briefings, and awareness campaigns that embed social responsibility in daily operations. We aim to be a trusted business partner not just for commercial entities, but for communities that host and depend upon the safe movement of international aviation.
Governance and Transparency
Built on Compliance and Oversight
TKVB Aviation Fuel Ltd operates with a governance structure that prioritises legal clarity, auditability, and transparent oversight. Our company is fully registered in England and Wales and is authorised by HMRC as a Registered Dealer in Controlled Oils (RDCO), which is a regulatory requirement for businesses that sell aviation fuel on a commercial basis. This registration confirms our compliance with all applicable excise duty, reporting, and tax obligations under UK legislation.
Every commercial transaction is recorded and reconciled using professional accounting software, and our financial processes are subject to internal checks and third-party oversight. All invoices, payment flows, and supplier agreements are reviewed against a formal compliance matrix to ensure that VAT reporting, payment accuracy, and client account management are correctly aligned with HMRC expectations. We do not process any financial transaction without verification of the underlying contractual obligation and delivery records.
TKVB takes the legal architecture of our commercial agreements seriously. Every contract we enter is reviewed to ensure it includes jurisdiction clauses, legal remedies, dispute resolution mechanisms, and indemnity structures that protect the parties involved. These agreements are governed either by UK law or another suitable jurisdiction such as the Dubai International Financial Centre where relevant, and they are signed only after internal legal and risk evaluation. We do not use template agreements for strategic partnerships and treat every client and supplier relationship with bespoke contractual attention.
Data protection is another major priority. We handle sensitive commercial information, regulatory communications, and personal data for clients, directors, and counterparties. All data is stored on secured systems with encrypted access. TKVB is fully compliant with UK GDPR regulations and has designated protocols for data access, retention, and breach notification. We have never experienced a data breach or loss of regulatory information.
We believe governance is more than compliance it is a reflection of our values. TKVB continues to review and refine its governance systems as the company grows, always ensuring that transparency, legal integrity, and fiduciary responsibility remain at the centre of how we operate.
Our ESG Commitments – At a Glance:
Environmental
TKVB Aviation Fuel Ltd recognises that environmental stewardship is a core responsibility within the aviation fuel supply chain. Our operational model is deliberately structured to reduce emissions and environmental footprint. All fuelling activities occur via hydrant and fuel farm systems integrated into airport infrastructure, which significantly minimises the use of road tankers or high-emission delivery vehicles. These systems are operated under strictly regulated airport safety and environmental frameworks.
We are currently undertaking internal feasibility assessments regarding the introduction of Sustainable Aviation Fuel into our product offering. This strategic roadmap aligns with the United Kingdom’s Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO), and we are closely monitoring regulatory changes and incentive structures that may accelerate SAF uptake. While TKVB itself does not emit or refine, we hold our logistical and handling partners accountable for emissions transparency and compliance. Environmental credentials are a key criterion in our partner selection and due diligence process, including verified ISO 14001 certification or equivalent recognition under UK or EU environmental standards.
In addition, TKVB actively monitors developments in lifecycle emissions reporting and supports industry dialogue on scope-based emissions tracking. We believe that aviation fuel distributors must play a constructive role in enabling airlines to transition to lower-carbon operations, even if indirectly. To that end, we are also examining the compatibility of SAF with current hydrant infrastructure and airport readiness in the UK context.
Safety
Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) compliance is a central pillar of TKVB’s operational integrity. We do not physically handle fuel but ensure that all delivery and distribution is carried out by airport-authorised and fully certified operators. These operators work in strict adherence to Joint Inspection Group (JIG) Guidelines, the IATA Fuel Quality Pool programme, and site-specific airport HSSE regulations. TKVB verifies, as part of its procurement oversight, that all involved parties have active safety training records, site access credentials, and participate in emergency preparedness drills.
In addition to safety protocols at the operational level, TKVB requires that any fuel uplifted on behalf of its clients meets rigorous filtration, contamination, and storage integrity checks. We receive and maintain delivery reports and quality certificates for all fuel transactions. We also enforce an incident reporting obligation, requiring all operational stakeholders to notify us within 24 hours in the event of any spillage, delivery malfunction, or safety breach. These events are reviewed internally and, where appropriate, escalated to the customer or airport authority.
Our HSSE monitoring processes are based on a principle of continuous improvement. We actively welcome audits, joint inspections, and feedback loops from airport authorities or contracted clients. TKVB recognises that a zero-harm culture is the foundation of any credible fuel operation, and we embed this thinking in our contracting, compliance, and staff oversight.
Social
TKVB is a company incorporated and governed under the laws of England and Wales, and all our commercial activities are carried out in full alignment with UK corporate governance standards. We are committed to maintaining the highest level of business ethics. Our code of conduct prohibits any form of bribery, facilitation payments, preferential dealings, or conflicts of interest. We uphold the UK Bribery Act 2010 and regularly review our internal controls to guard against exposure to unethical business practices.
Our management team is composed of UK-based directors who meet the criteria of fitness and propriety required under UK law. All operational decisions, compliance matters, and stakeholder communications are managed through our registered office and trading presence in the UK. TKVB fosters a collaborative workplace culture that values transparency, accountability, and open dialogue.
We are also committed to diversity and inclusion. Our hiring practices ensure equal opportunity and fair treatment regardless of race, gender, background, or nationality. Employment contracts are governed under UK employment law, and all employees are entitled to statutory rights, protections, and workplace benefits. We do not subcontract staffing or labour functions outside the UK, and all personnel operating under TKVB oversight are legally authorised to work in the jurisdiction in which they operate.
Governance
TKVB maintains rigorous corporate governance practices. We are registered with HMRC as a Dealer in Controlled Oils (RDCO), allowing us to legally operate within the aviation fuel resale sector. Our compliance obligations are managed through a combination of internal protocols and third-party oversight. All invoices, payment schedules, and VAT returns are prepared using Xero accounting software and independently reviewed.
Every commercial agreement entered into by TKVB is governed by either UK or international legal frameworks, with clear jurisdictional clauses and dispute resolution mechanisms. Our contracts undergo legal review and reflect best practice in the areas of liability, delivery, fuel quality, and operational risk. TKVB’s approach to contracts is strategic, not transactional. We ensure all parties are clear on their rights, obligations, and points of recourse in the event of breach or dispute.
We also take data protection seriously. All client data, regulatory correspondence, and commercial documentation are stored securely using encrypted systems with access limited to authorised personnel. TKVB complies fully with the General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and maintains internal policies governing retention, access, and reporting obligations relating to personal and commercial data.
Our board conducts regular governance reviews and remains focused on maintaining a culture of integrity, auditability, and legal clarity. TKVB believes that good governance is not only a compliance requirement but also a competitive advantage and a prerequisite for long-term business viability.
